A MA woman will face a judge Thursday after she allegedly took her 3-year-old daughter after making threats to harm her.

Lee-Ann Rickheit allegedly kidnapped the child from a Worcester home around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, made threats to kill the girl, and then drove around Central Massachusetts with the child until State Police troopers tracked her down to woods in Charlton around 2:45 a.m. The mother will now face charges of attempted murder and assault and battery. They say she has history in the Charlton area and was thought to be recently traveling on the Mass. Pike in that area.

State troopers smashed a vehicle window when they came across a woman and a child who appeared to be sleeping in an idling auto. "Trooper Keller Williams smashed a window to the vehicle and troopers removed the child and Rickheit from the auto".

The two were found later Wednesday in a auto in a wooded area of Charlton, about 15 miles (24 kilometers) away.

Rickheit's attorney said her client didn't think her daughter would be harmed because she cracked open a window.

Leeann Rickheit was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester where she was kept under police guard before being transferred to the State Police barracks in Sturbridge.

Rickheit is being held on a $500,000 bail after entering a plea of not guilty in court on Thursday to all charges.

The girl was taken to UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, and police said she was reported to be doing well Thursday morning.
