Woman, who was caught on camera slapping Army soldier, arrested; auto sized

She was released within hours after a judge granted her bail.In the mobile video taken by a witness last Saturday in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj, 44-year-old Smriti Kalra is seen planting several blows on the jawan before walking angrily towards her auto.
Kalra, who received major backlash on social media for assaulting a soldier, was produced in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Lovleen, who granted her bail, Additional DCP (South), Chinmoy Biswal was quoted by Deccan Chronicle as saying.
As per reports, the woman suddenly stopped her auto, got down and slapped the jawan and again walked back towards it. He got down to speak to her but she abused him and also slapped him a couple of times, they said.
Kalra was slammed on the social media for her behaviour. Subsequently, Kalra was arrested from her home in Gurugram and police also seized her auto. But instead the woman allegedly held the collar of the jawan, abused him and slapped him. One of the JCOs got off the vehicle and talked with Kalra.
She apparently blamed the constable for being an Army personnel after which he came back to the truck and sat in the driver's seat. A passer-by clicked a video of the incident in which she is seen acting in an angry manner even as the Armymen remain cool and cordial.
On September 9, a woman was caught slapping an Army Jawan on the streets of Delhi.
Police said Smriti Kalra of Gurugram's Phase-5 was arrested on charges of assaulting a public servant and deterring him from discharging his duty. She was married to an Army officer's son but since divorced. She now lives with her parents in Gurgaon.
Although the incident took place on September 9, the complaint was filed by the Army subedar on September 13 which claimed that the woman had assaulted him when he was travelling in a military truck.
