You have EA pushing its subscription program with early access to a highly anticipated game, while that highly anticipated game only suffers for it. Ryder's ugly grimaces and animation bugs would've been tweeted on launch day too, but there would have been plenty else to move on to-new story beats and characters to talk about.

BioWare's Ian Frazier was taking questions on Twitter from fans about the game when he was asked about the animations.

In addition to HDR, Mass Effect: Andromeda also supports Nvidia's Ansel technology, which-according to its press release-is "a revolutionary new way to capture in-game photography".

For those unaware, ever since Mass Effect: Andromeda became available to play through EA and Origin Access with a 10 hour trial, many fans have been disappointed to discover that the game's facial animations have been less than pristine, with some saying the problem is so noticeable that it takes them out of the experience entirely. Per Twitter, the game's Lead Designer Ian Frazier conceded that the day one patch is already in the can, and that any fixes will have to be implemented via a future update.

Mass Effect: Andromeda's multiplayer matches appear as a list of missions. "We'll have more patches later on", Frazier suggested, "but what exactly goes into them is still in discussion".

And BioWare isn't doing anything to correct their shenanigans.

Mass Effect Andromeda comes out on March 21 in North America and March 23 in Europe for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. As it's been the case with other big games recently, Bioware is launching a companion mobile app that will help players stay engaged with the game's universe even when away from their console or PC.
