The February 2019 Nintendo Direct has just ended and there wasn't a single peep of information about the new Metroid game (or any remasters of old games, for that matter).
Rumor has it Nintendo will finally reveal Metroid Prime Trilogy for Switch, and possibly, we can't stress that enough, announce Super Mario Maker 2 is in the works. We also got to see how Nintendo is handling the transition from the Wii U touchpad to the switch screen.
The Direct taking place this week initially hit the internet as a rumour - and when that was confirmed, players started looking a bit closer at what other elements of the rumour could be accurate.
Besides that, Nintendo hasn't revealed what games will be featured during today's Direct, but we already know of a few that are lined up for this year, including the adorable platformer Yoshi's Crafted World, which launches on March 29.
We've only seen a smattering of bits and pieces of the upcoming Fire Emblem game since learning of its existence, and we're still unsure when the game is even scheduled to debut.
Strap on your tin foil hats folks, there's a new Nintendo Direct on the horizon.
