At one point Friday it appeared jurors were deadlocked when the judge read a letter from one of them saying that he could not vote to convict Slager and was not about to change his mind. Trump sets plan to separate from his business, makes Treasury pick

President-elect Donald Trump said Wednesday he's leaving his business empire to focus on being the nation's 45th president, declaring he can successfully avoid conflicts of interest between governing and profiting in the private sector. Jack Marshall, an attorney and the founder of ProEthics, an ethics consultancy, said there was no satisfactory end in sight because there was no practical or realistic way for Trump to truly separate himself from his business interests.

Vanderbilt shocks Tennessee in Nashville

Vandy's rally spoiled another superlative effort by Dobbs in his final regular-season game for the Vols. Federal Bureau of Investigation says body found near Knoxville believed to be Rachel Madison

Police have been looking for him since his estranged wife, Rachael L. Madison, 44, disappeared in Florida last weekend. Remains believed to be that of Rachel Madison have been found in a remote area off Interstate 40 near Knoxville, Tennessee Friday evening, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said.
