Services today for two fallen Dallas officers

A week ago a 17-year-old youth who had sought asylum in Germany was shot dead by police after wounding five people with an ax near Wuerzburg, also in Bavaria.

In a statement , Hillary Clinton thanked her "longtime friend" for her leadership. Some at the breakfast defended Wasserman Schultz and described the protest against her as unnecessarily heated. One indicated Wasserman Schultz had asked staffers to take Canova's name out of a headline on a statement that was being sent out in response to Sanders's endorsement of Canova.

The invitation came with no strings, other than that the Trump campaign got to look at the speech ahead of its delivery. America is better than Donald Trump. Trump prepared for his big night amid another flap over his commitment to US military alliances, including North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. Mr Trump promoted himself as the law and order candidate - in the United States and in the world, promising the crowd that the country would "defeat the barbarians of ISIS".

Cruz meets with angry Texas delegates after convention speech

About half the people in the ballroom appeared upset at him. Cruz said he had been very clear about his intention to the Trump campaign, even telling Trump he would not endorse him in a conversation before the convention and letting the campaign read his speech hours before it was delivered.

Sanders urges fans to rally behind Clinton as DNC heats up

Darcy Samek, 54, traveled alone from Minneapolis to protest through the four-day convention. Wikileaks said on Friday that it had in its possession 19,252 DNC e-mails, some of which were sent and received by top Democratic Party officials in which they discussed strategies to defeat Sanders for the party's presidential nomination.
