The seat is now held by Rep. Luke Messer, who chose not to run for re-election in order to run in the Senate primary, which he lost Tuesday night to upstart challenger Mike Braun.

Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday shared a heartbreaking detail about one of the three freed United States citizens who had been detained in North Korea, providing a glimpse into the brutal nature of hard labor and human rights in the country. He mentioned he has a tough time telling the place Pence stands on points, though each profess help for many of President Donald Trump's agenda.

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence welcomed North Korea's release of three American detainees but vowed not to ease pressure on the regime until it fully abandons its nuclear weapons program. He says when Trump asked him to support his tax overhaul or his plan to end the Affordable Care Act, "Joe voted no". The seat is open on this cycle as a result of Rep. Luke Messer is in search of the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate. Donnelly's campaign said he had voted with Trump 62 percent of the time. Before his 2012 election, the senator represented a House district that included Elkhart.

"I mean, Mike Pence has been claiming that he was just out in the dark and that he was just this clueless, hapless Indiana Hoosier that Donald Trump and the rest of the White House said nothing to", he added. It's expected to be one of the most competitive Senate campaigns. Home-state Vice President Mike Pence will also attend the rally.

Elkhart County was very good to the President during his campaign.

Obama suffered broad losses in Congress and in statehouses during the 2010 and 2014 midterm elections, an outcome Trump hopes to avoid.
