Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira has admitted that he has been delaying his proposed move to Arsenal until after Uruguay's campaign in the World Cup, as per a report from the Daily Mail.

Mkhitaryan and Ramsey are among the Arsenal first-team stars who did not participate in this summer's World Cup in Russian Federation, and so they have reported back with the first batch of Gunners players.

But with Uruguay heading home, the Sampdoria man is now clear to complete his £25m move to the Emirates.

On Friday, the Frenchman appeared for his national team as they reached the World Cup semi-finals and his desire to move on from Los Rojiblancos has been in the news for some time.

'A charter flight will return 17 of the 23 players that make up the squad.

Amid all the usual reaction from Arsenal supporters, though, Telegraph journalist Jeremy Wilson gave his insight on Torreira's performance against France and N'Golo Kante.

Emery has already brought in three signings, with Stephan Lichtsteiner joining from Juventus on a free transfer, while goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos have also been acquired form Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund respectively.

According to reports, Arsenal will sign the Uruguayan from Sampdoria once the midfielder's campaign in Russian Federation is over. "We don't want to think about London right now because it truly scares us". The World Cup is important and being part of this squad meant a lot to me.

In summary, it looks like Arsenal are closing on a player very similar to Kante and someone who could reach his heights in the future.

"There will be people that will accompany him", he told Teledoce.
