The Most freaky College Football Playoff Field That's Still Actually Possible

Now, to this week....the Frogs had a bye and now they get a prime time game on an unusually busy Thursday this week. This game will likely determine whether the Seminoles or the Tigers get a shot at the ACC Championship.

The one thing Alabama knows how to do, is win, no matter how ugly it is. That rarely happens for them. Derrick Henry went for 143 and two scores, including the game win. And as we've seen throughout this season, Temple has been pretty dang good. The Owls presently sit at 7-0 and ranked.

The only game this week featuring two ranked teams was in Philadelphia, PA where College GameDay was in attendance for the game between the No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the No. 21 Temple Owls.

Maybe he should have been starting all season, yes?

Every time Corey Coleman, or Jay Lee, or KD Cannon giddily abuses another defender, I think to myself, yes, Nick, this is what I want to football to be. Then you have the Big 12, where the three unbeatens - Baylor, Texas Christian, and Oklahoma State - all play each other in November. The Red Raiders have allowed more than 60 points in consecutive weeks (Oklahoma scored 63).

Not the best way for the Tigers to go into a clash with star Florida State running back Dalvin Cook. Their toughest game remaining? Did anybody mention how good of a win Pitt is now? And after their first seven wins of the 2015 season - seven wins in which they've outscored their opposition by more points than any other team in the country - there's an argument to be made that No. 1 is exactly where they should be. Pelini was fired for many reasons, the foremost of which was his inability to get Nebraska to the next level of national relevance. They passed the glorified scrimmage vs Football Kansas, not Basketball Kansas this past week. This is not the same 4-8 team from last year, they're better, and are due for a big win.

"We're going to do everything to keep from getting distracted by continuing to do what we do".

Each Sunday we'll provide you with the top story lines from the day's action, beginning with the top plays of the day, and look ahead to the next week's matchups. Greg Ward, Jr continues to develop nicely, the showdown with Memphis looms. Nonetheless, they looked really impressive against Texas A&M last week. If Baylor occasionally seems like its playing with an edge this season - as in the hanging of 62 points on West Virginia defense that had ranked among the nation's best in the season's opening month - that's because it is doing just that.

It's hard to say what the rest of the season looks like for the Gators, who have clearly taken a step back offensively with Treon Harris at quarterback instead of Will Grier. He joins Cam Newton as only SEC players in last 20 years with 100 rush yards, a rush touchdown and touchdown pass in first career start. Cameron Smith, freshman linebacker had a coming out party, as he intercepted Utes QB Travis Wilson three times, returning two of them for scores.

So, this is a great opportunity to ignore all that and just watch football. The Rockets were down by three scores at halftime, to UMASS last Saturday. By the end of the third quarter of their visit to Waco, they were down 48-24. The Group of 5 battle for the New Years Six bowl has been a fun one so far, Toledo is very much alive for that bid.

Alabama beats LSU but loses to Mississippi State, while Ole Miss wins out. "If you're going to press us, we're going to take advantage of that, like we did with Charone". They had not lost a conference game since October 6th, 2012. He was taken out of the game and replaced by backup Wilton Speight, who led the 15th-ranked Wolverines to a 29-26 win.

The first rankings come out Tuesday night.
