The iPhone 8's new camera mode needs a lot of work

And by offering installment plans, Apple and its carrier partners can help customers spread the cost of an expensive iPhone over on or two years. Don't think a silver iPhone; this is more moonstone than pearl, in a good way.
To answer that and help you decide which - if either - of these phones are for you, we've put the iPhone X and the iPhone 8 head to head. The reason for this is the 8's glass design, instead of aluminum, like it was the case for 7. It's not a political thing, at least I don't see it that way at all. The bottom and top bezels are still there, unlike the X, where they disappeared completely. Considering that even midrange Android phones are starting to come equipped with a dual lens camera while only the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X have them in the newest iPhone range, it feels as though Apple's being stingy with the iPhone 8.
Their dimensions and weights are very different too. Now this month, Apple has upped the ante further with the iPhone X, which will launch for a staggering $999.
"Well, it's a value price, actually, for the technology you're getting".
APPLE saysits upcoming flagship mobile phone represents the firm's "biggest leap forward" since the original iPhone was released. It's also the highest resolution at 1125 x 2436 and the sharpest at 458 pixels per inch. That makes the iPhone X the most expensive smartphone Apple has ever sold. Moreover, the 7 even comes in more colors than the 8, but maybe this is something that Apple will fix later. That's likely to be especially handy when multitasking. Portrait mode's software separates the subject from their surroundings and creates a blurred effect in the background. They're also both capable video cameras, able to shoot in 4K at up to 60fps and in 1080p at up to 240fps. When Apple's software chief Craig Federighi came onstage to show how easy and fast it is to unlock the phone with a face, his first attempt was unsuccessful (the passcode screen popped up).
The iPhone 8 has no such skills - though remember it does have a fingerprint scanner, which the iPhone X doesn't. Will we ever know?
The iPhone 8 is up for pre-order now and hitting stores on September 22. A new facial-recognition feature called Face ID can verify the users' identities and their purchases via Apple Pay.
