Tennis star Serena Williams hints she is pregnant in Snapchat selfie

File While pregnancy may spell the end of Serena Williams season it doesn't mean she won't be back on court

The 23-time Grand Slam victor announced back in December that she had gotten engaged to Ohanian, gushing that she "feels good" about her engagement. She hasn't played since beating her sister in the Australian Open final.

The WTA later pulled its post, and a representative told CNN the association hasn't been informed if Williams is pregnant and could not confirm or deny if a baby is indeed on board.

Williams posted the picture below on the social media service.

Williams has more Grand Slam titles to her name than any other player, especially after earning her 23rd at the Australian Open in January. She was busy growing a new human inside her, and perhaps not quite ready to share the news with the world.

It would be perfectly safe for Williams to continue with rigorous training throughout pregnancy, but how quickly she would return to tournament tennis was uncertain, the researchers said. She has just two wins in 21 head-to-head meetings with rival Williams.

Victoria Azarenka, the former world No1 and two-time grand slam champion, announced last week that she will return to the tour in July after stepping away a year ago when she became pregnant.

The athlete is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, 33.

The pregnant athlete showed off her adorable burgeoning belly in a lemonade yellow swimsuit, which featured silver buttons on the side.

The US Open officially tweeted the news shortly after wishing the star a big congratulations.

Belgium's Kim Clijsters came out of retirement at the age of 26 after having a child and won three Grand Slam titles. "It feels good", she said during a press conference.

But now the star will have to take time off from the game, which she has rarely done since she started competing as a child.

Serena hasn't played since then, pulling out of both Indian Wells and Miami, citing a knee injury.
