Sydney real estate agent wrestles shark out of pool

The brave agent'herded the shark into shallow water and then bent over to pick it

Melissa Hatheier told local news sites that her family had told her that a shark had drifted into the pool and no one knew what to do, which is when she thought she could just grab him.

Melissa Hatheier, a Sydney real estate agent, encountered the child-sized Port Jackson shark swimming in an ocean pool. Huge cheers could be heard in the background as she succeeded in lifting the shark up and threw it back into the sea.

You're going for a quick dip in an ocean pool and you catch sight of a shark in the water: what do you do?

The video posted on Cronulla Real Estate's Facebook page garnered over 100,000 views and 900 shares at the time of publishing this article.

"So I came down, there was a bit of a crew here, and had a look and he was a little Port Jackson and was doing laps of the pool", she told Channel 9's Today show, according to The Telegraph.

Clearly not one to mess around, she follows the animal, she wraps her arms around it and hoists it out of the pool and back into open water.

She added, "I was thinking I just need to put him back where he is meant to be". I grabbed her from her neck so she wouldn't bite me.

"Oh my god, get out - there's a shark!" she yelled. He wasn't that heavy but his skin was very rough, like sandpaper.

Hatheier's daughter, Shannon, captured the daring save on video, showing the real estate agent using her bare hands and picking up the shark and safely placing it over the divider.
