The SuperSmash Bros Ultimate presentation is now being streamed live and two new additions to the character line-up have been announced.
Chrom from the Fire Emblem series and Dark Samus from Metroid will also be showing up as Echo characters. As far as the more specific changes to the game's rules and options, Sakurai detailed that Stamina Battles are now part of the standard fight options for matches alongside Stock and Timed Matches, and stage selection will come after adjusting the match type and rule set.
Phew! I think those are all the big announcements - Nintendo sure knows how to pack a lot of info into half an hour! His Final Smash is the Grand Cross, which locks an opponent in an explosive coffin.
Bearing all of this in mind, it's safe to say Super Smash Bros.
Tourney Mode - Exactly what it sounds like - play through tournaments with up to 32 players!
Freshly announced assist trophies include some beloved characters like Knuckles from the Sonic universe, and some terrifying foes like the moon from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and a Rathalos from the Monster Hunter franchise.
Squad Strike: When playing Squad Strike, players will participate in 5-on-5 or 3-on-3 skirmishes, with each player using either five or three consecutive fighters in one battle.
However, it seems as though the Castlevania castle won't officially be recognized as Luigi's final resting place, with Nintendo confirming that the Mario bro is, in fact, "okay".
Smashdown: After battling in this mode, the previously selected fighters will no longer be available, forcing players to have to pick a different fighter for the next round. Ultimate'sTraining mode will come with a grid overlay, allowing you to easily determine ranges on abilities. Bosses from across the #Castlevania series will appear in this stage, so watch out!
