'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' trailer sparks questions, insane theories

Mark Hamill says Carrie Fisher was supposed to be 'more prominent' in the final 'Star Wars' movie

Sure, everyone was blown away by the new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer when it dropped late last night, but there was a lot of information being delivered (and a lot of questions asked) amongst the spectacle.

According to Wookieepedia, the Star Wars encyclopedia, they're sea birds "native to the planet Ahch-To, where Jedi Master Luke Skywalker made his exile in the years following the Battle of Endor". I know it would be best to avoid all this speculation, but talking about Star Wars is just too fun. The trailer focuses on Rey and Kylo Ren, digging a bit into their past. Thanks to new details about the film and the promise of a full trailer, The Last Jedi almost topped last week in social media buzz. Here are five things to think about while waiting for December 15.

The world has seen mere seconds of Star Wars: The Last Jedi's porgs, but already they're a divisive character. Whether this is meant to signal her move to the dark side remains to be seen. We also did get to see a glimpse of Finn fighting Phasma, a fight that could potentially only have one survivor. Now Disney has released a new official trailer for the upcoming movie.

And do they think Kylo Ren really will fire on his mother's ship (and yes, we're still emotional after seeing Carrie Fisher), or is that moment of hesitation a sign of where his story is going? Then there's the hint that Ren and Rey could work together, leading to further speculation about Rey's heritage (as the main new lightsaber-wielder without a clear Skywalker or Kenobi connection).
