Hailing from Bangor, Maine, Stephanie originally wanted to be a geneticist before going on to graduate from the Duke University in theater as well as in Russian. This time she performed the position of The Wraith in Star Trek: Enterprise which was telecasted on UPN in 2002.

Before she died she was an active volunteer for several charity organizations.

Stephanie is best known for her role playing Nina Feeney, the sweet neighbor of the Brown family on Everwood. The drama Everwood was telecasted for 4 seasons from 2002 to 2006 on The WB.

The versatile American movie and tv actress Stephanie Lynne Niznik handed away on June 23rd, 2019. Steph's final feature film was in 2009's The Twenty where she played the role of Dot.

In 2017, Niznik was among the Everwood stars that reunited at the Television Critics Association in honor of the show's 15th anniversary.

In the backdoor pilot special for the Private Practice series, Niznik also played prominently at ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy.
