Klopp has confirmed Shaqiri will not be involved "for a while" after tearing his calf while on Switzerland duty at the UEFA Nations League.

The fear for Shaqiri is that he'll miss Liverpool's pre-season, which could affect his involvement at the start of the Premier League season.

Origi, who secured his legendary status at Anfield with several critical goals at the climax of last season, returned to Melwood for training on Monday.

How did Shaqiri's injury happen?

It comes as a sour pill to swallow with Liverpool's attacking trident still on holiday/competing on global duty. "Liverpool expect Naby Keita to be fit to begin his pre-season training programme later this month", the European champions said in a statement here on their website.

Opportunities for others to shine?

Then he scored two - including the all-important fourth goal - in Liverpool's stunning comeback win over Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.

Liverpool FC could use Divock Origi as part of a deal to sign Real Betis defender Junior Firpo, according to a report in Spain.

Klopp's admiration of the academy prospect is no secret after immediately involving Brewster with the first-team despite sustaining a serious injury that kept him out of participation in football for the majority of 2018.

The 27-year-old featured in 24 league games in the last campaign (started 11 times) and found the net 6 times.

It is mentioned that the Reds would be willing to pay a fee of around 75 million euros (£67million) to sign Asensio, who would be able to provide cover for star playmaker Mohamed Salah, who is our first choice right winger.

Liverpool have seven friendly fixtures scheduled between now and their Community Shield showdown with Premier League champions Manchester City on August 4, starting with a trip to local rivals Tranmere Rovers on Thursday and Bradford City three days later.
