Scenes as McGregor jumps into cage at 3 Arena

Conor McGregor angrily confronted an MMA referee at an event in Dublin on Friday night after jumping into the Octagon.

The Bellator 187 event took place Friday evening in Dublin and is scheduled to air on tape delay in the US on Spike TV.

The UFC star was involved in a insane altercation in the cage with referee Marc Goddard at the event in the 3Arena.

It all went down after Ward won by 1st-round KO at Bellator 187 - which prompted McGregor to jump into the cage to show his SBG Ireland teammate some love.

McGregor and Goddard have previous history.

McGregor eventually left the cage while continuing to shout at Goddard as he made his way out.

Again, cameras appeared to be cageside, taking in McGregor's actions.

Goddard and McGregor crossed paths last month when he ordered the UFC star to sit down while he cheered on another team-mate Artem Lobov from outside the cage.

The UFC has never co-promoted with anybody before but there's also never been anyone like McGregor, who has become the biggest draw in all of combat sports over the past few years.

The UFC have yet to comment on the incident but in all likelihood McGregor will face some kind of penalty for his actions, which in turn could lead to a potential delay to his return to the octagon.

McGregor was knocked out by Floyd Mayweather during his pro boxing debut in August.

After being escorted out of the cage, McGregor promptly returned to the vicinity of the area as he acknowledge the crowd.
