Robert Pattinson confirmed to star as Batman in 2021 movie

REPORT: Pattinson and Hoult Screen Testing for THE BATMAN

According to a tweet by Umberto Gonzalez from THE WRAP, Robert Pattinson (33) and Nicholas Hoult (29) are both screen testing for the lead role in Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN and will do so in the Batsuit.

Two weeks ago, it was reported that Robert Pattinson has all but signed on to play the Caped Crusader in The Batman.

Matt Reeves came aboard to take over as the writer and director, and it was confirmed in January that Ben Affleck was stepping away from the franchise entirely.

The first film is now slated for a June 25, 2021 release with filming expected to begin this summer. The Riddler was last on the big screen in Batman Forever, wih Jim Carrey portraying the villainous character who was recently utilized in live-action on Gotham.

After his gig as a vampire in Twilight, Robert went on to star in films like High Life, and is starring for Warner Bros in Christopher Nolan's next film.

Ben Affleck donned the cape as the vigilante hero in two films, the 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017 movie Justice League.

Pattinson will first appear on the silver screen in "Tenet", which opens in July 2020.

The film is expected to start pre-production this summer and is now slated to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
