‘Rick and Morty’ returns for Season 4

Adult Swim

The long-awaited next season looks to be full of more zany sci-fi shenanigans, plus an all-important follow-up with Professor Poopybutthole.

Adult Swim has dropped a colourfully chaotic new trailer for the highly anticipated fourth season of Rick and Morty, which has now been given a premiere date of November 10 at 11:30 p.m.

The report mentioned the rest of the season will likely be released sometime in 2020, although no other release date was mentioned. There's no mention of a return for Evil Morty, who is now the democratically-elected President of the the Citadel. 70 episodes can be stretched over a whopping seven more seasons, but the show's creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland are convinced the show will be around for way longer than that. The Rick and Morty season 4 trailer comes to us from Adult Swim on YouTube. Fans will see returning characters, people turning into things they don't want to be turned into, Rick being a bit of a diva, and, more importantly, the official release date. If not, well, it's going to be a while until season 4 hits Hulu. Morty gets a dragon, Rick's lab coat rips off Doctor Strange's cloak, and a ton of familiar faces come back to the forefront. Animating the new episodes has taken longer than fans were hoping for given the gap of over two years between seasons, but moving forward, it shouldn't take so long to wait. This fourth season is set to have 10 of those new episodes, split into two parts.

While it's been a long time since we've seen any new episodes of Rick and Morty, the titular duo are pretty much picking up exactly where they left off. Not much about the new season has been revealed to the adoring masses - probably for good reason, as there's nothing worse than saying too much about a hotly anticipated project - but what we do know is that the wait will be well worth it.
