The soccer superstar might join Juventus from Real Madrid this summer in a transfer worth around €100 million (£88.3 million/$116.5 million), according to Spanish journalist Josep Pedrerol, who reported Tuesday on "Jugones" the blockbuster transfer rumor is nearly a done deal.
"It makes me laugh", he said, referring to the saga.
According to El Chiringuito TV show Jugones (via reports from Metro), Real Madrid are reportedly willing to accept a fee of €100 million (£88 million) from European rivals and 7 consecutive times Serie A champions, Juventus. The player doesn't believe the club protected him during his court case with the Spanish tax office.
The claim comes from French journalist Baptiste Ripart - the man responsible for breaking news of Antoine Griezmann's contract renewal at Atlético Madrid and their signing of Thomas Lemar.
Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez, had stubbornly maintained that Ronaldo would only be allowed to leave if his release clause was met. Juventus arrived on the scene a little over a month ago and the player has chose to join them.
Throughout the transfer window Real Madrid has been linked with a move for Brazilian attacker Neymar, considered something of an "heir" to Ronaldo by the Spanish giant. The last step for this deal to get over the line is for Cristiano to announce he wants to leave.
