R. Kelly's attorney responds to allegations made in docu-series

R. Kelly is off the hook for allegedly giving one of his sexual assault accusers claimed that he gave her a sexually transmitted disease.

- In the midst of calls for investigations into allegations against singer R. Kelly, the Chicago-based attorney for the musician broke his silence Wednesday evening defending his client.

Rapper R. Kelly is now being evicted from his music studio in Chicago, according to a report Thursday. The grassroots effort seeks to cancel Kelly's concerts, get his music off the air and hold him accountable for allegations of abuse. He has denied that allegation.

Savage and his wife have said repeatedly that Kelly has kept their daughter from contacting them since 2016.

Griggs said the Fulton County district attorney's office reached out to him on Monday seeking contact information for witnesses.

Still, some legal experts and prosecutors say it may be hard to bring charges.

There has been no official word from the Fulton County District Attorney's Office.

The star, who has been accused of a range of misconduct by multiple women and was the subject of Lifetime's newly released docuseries Surviving R. Kelly, showed up at V75 Lounge in Chicago on Wednesday night. Foxx, a sexual assault survivor herself, said that she was left "sickened" after watching the series. I was sickened as a mother.

On Tuesday, Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx called for any R. Kelly sexual abuse victims to come forward, saying her office can not investigate without the cooperation of victims and witnesses.

TMZ is reporting that Asante McGee, another woman who escaped one of Kelly's homes, was also contacted by investigators looking to build a case against the singer. Most infamously, Kelly was charged with child pornography in 2000 after the aforementioned video surfaced (Kelly was cleared in 2008 after that woman declined to testify against him).

R Kelly was rumoured to have married Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash, after a marriage certificate emerged showing they may have married when she was 15.

Kelly has not commented on the latest allegations made in the series but his attorney said the allegations are false, calling this another round of stories.

"Ten and a half years after he was found innocent (at trial of child pornography charges) and to fill reality TV time - someone comes up with another round of stories", he said.

He settled at least three lawsuits accusing him of having sex with underage girls filed between 1997 and 2002.
