In a meeting of top Iranian and Qatari delegations, Rouhani accepted Sheikh Tamim's invitation to visit Qatar.

The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Thani held a telephone conversation today with HE President Vladimir Putin of the friendly Russian Federation.
In this meeting, with President Hassan Rouhani also in attendance, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed that he was very pleased to meet with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, confirming that the West Asia is in a very hard situation.
He also referred to the formation of the Joint Commission on Cooperation in the near future, saying, "We urge members of the commission to address various issues of interest to the two countries that could contribute to the development, strengthening and consolidation of Tehran-Doha relations in all fields".
Sheikh Tamim said that Iran is an influential country in the region and any security cooperation without Iran's participation has no value.
Qatar is close to the United States and hosts Washington's largest military base in the region, but it also enjoys strong ties with Iran, with which it shares the world's largest gas field.
