Police Launch Search After Woman Goes Over Niagara Falls

Search launched for woman who 'intentionally' fell over Niagara Falls

Police have launched a search operation in upstate New York this evening after a woman went over Niagara Falls. A white female in her 40s entered the water at Prospect Point at around 6pm on Saturday.

The woman, whose name has not been released, is presumed dead. Police said a witness videotaped the incident and gave the video to authorities, allowing them to identify the victim as a female.

Emergency services are now scouring the river below the mammoth waterfall, which gushes six million cubic feet of water every minute at 70 miles per hour.

Authorities, who were assisted by crews from the Maid of the Mist, also asked police in Niagara Falls, Ont., to be on the lookout.

According to several newspapers, this was Ms. Taylor's advice to those aspiring to repeat her stunt: "Don't try it".
