Phoenix Suns vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction, Preview, and Odds
Mar 14 2019
After opening the season an NBA-worst 11-51, the Suns have won four of their last five games, including a stunning 115-111 victory at the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors on Sunday night.
The Phoenix Suns dragged into Oracle Arena about 17 hours after seven-point loss at Portland with a record, 15-52, that put them 31 games behind the Warriors in the Western Conference standings. "It wasn't pretty. Probably the worst loss of the season", Klay Thompson added about losing at home to a team with only 16 wins all season.
While the Suns are a young team building for the future, the Warriors are veterans of many National Basketball Association wars, including 83 postseason games over the past four years.
Playing the second night of a back-to-back, the Suns found the energy to outlast the Warriors after having trailed by as many as 16 points.
Booker then capped his big night with two game-clinching free throws, before Mikal Bridges added another pair.
And now that they have pulled it off, it means more to that roster of players than we could even imagine.
"Everybody is playing for something", Suns coach Igor Kokoskov said.
Tanking doesn't seem to be in the plans for the Suns, but they'll face a stiff challenge tonight in the Warriors in the second game of a back-to-back. The Warriors are now 4-6 over the last 10 games. "After All-Star break, most people could fold and it's happened in the past years here", Booker said.
Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 19 points, six rebounds and five assists. This features a four-game road trip which starts on Wednesday with a game against the Houston Rockets, followed by dates with the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, and Minnesota Timberwolves.
Golden State struggled nearly across the board in this game, with a few single performances being the exception.
