Pauley Perrette Announces She's Leaving'NCIS After Season 15

"We've known for some time this would be Pauley's final season on NCIS and have been working toward a special send-off", NCIS executive producers George Schenck and Frank Cardea confirmed in a statement.

Perrette has been with NCIS since it began in 2003, playing the upbeat, "Goth" forensic specialist Abby Sciuoto. "It is true, I will be leaving NCIS at the end of the season".

She tweeted the news early Wednesday, attempting to dispel what she called "false stories" about her planned exit: "No, I don't have a skincare line and no, my network and show are not mad at me".

It is on Twitter that the actress was 48-year-old announced the news. The actress confirmed rumors of her impending departure on Twitter, writing that she made the decision previous year and that she's leaving the show on good terms.

NCIS season 15 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.

"I love her as much as you do", Perrette added.

Perrette is one of the last remaining original cast members on the CBS series: Mark Harmon as Special Agent Leroy Gibbs and David McCallum as Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard are the other two. The fan-favorite character will soon work her last case with the team, according to Pauley Perrette, the actress who plays her.

Abby is a popular original character, and she has been in fans' lives since Season 1.

"NCIS" recently endured significant changes behind the scenes, following the death of long-time showrunner Gary Glasberg previous year.
