We said: "The OnePlus 6 is an incredible phone at an even more incredible price".
OnePlus has been speaking to CNET about fingerprint sensors and how its next phone will probably feature one under the display.
OnePlus" tweet, which gives a teaser video of this feature, was posted with the statement "Incoming: "Top Secret Message".
Well, that's changing now, it appears, as we've spotted an image on China's Weibo showing a real life capture of what the uploader of the image says is the OnePlus 6T. The design could be similar to the Oppo R17 Pro, which has recently launched in China.
ONEPLUS HAS CONFIRMED that its incoming OnePlus 6T will be the first to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The company clarified that it had initially planning to launch the in-display fingerprint scanning technology with the OnePlus 5T but the technology behind this feature was not "mature enough" to meet the quality and reliability standards that the company had established for "a fast and smooth user experience".
According to OnePlus, we unlock our phones multiple times a day, and the new in-display screen unlock feature, it will help to reduce the number of steps to complete the action of unlocking the device.
Interestingly, OnePlus is going the Apple way and is getting rid of the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor altogether. But whatever: To the user, they will be pressing their finger on the display to unlock the phone.
You just press your finger to the screen and the technology embedded embedded behind the display layer senses your print. The OnePlus 6T will have an OLED panel and no physical fingerprint sensor.
An in-screen scanner could prove a major selling point for the OnePlus 6T, especially as the phone is likely to undercut most flagships, the majority of which don't offer the tech.
