Two of Ohio State's pulverized victims wound up ranked: No. 13 Wisconsin and No. 20 Cincinnati.

Two from the Big Ten.

Here are some things to watch during the 11th week of the Southeastern Conference football season.

The Clemson football team was ranked No. 5 in the first CFB Playoff poll for the 2019 season.

No. 1 LSU (8-0, 4-0) - These are not your grandfather's Tigers. The 13-member committee will produce four more sets of rankings each Tuesday before the only ones that really count come out on selection Sunday, December 8.

The 2019 College Football Playoff semifinals take place December 28. The national championship game is January 13 in New Orleans.

The Tigers went on to win the national title in 2016 and again past year.

If the logic of the committee behind the rankings on Tuesday remains (Clemson is in the place where it is due to weak programming), the Tigers could finish the season as the number 3 team in the playoffs standings.

All those blowouts were enough for Ohio State to get the edge over LSU, who has beaten top-12 teams in Auburn and Florida this season. The Tigers have three victories against teams ranked (at the time) in the top 10.

K-State is one of four Big 12 teams in the playoff rankings.

The highest-ranked Group of Five team at that point would head to Arlington, Texas for the Cotton Bowl on December 28. Alabama and LSU link up for a top-four showdown.

"When you look at Penn State's resume with wins over MI and at Iowa, those are marquee wins", said Mullens, who also pointed out the Lions have held seven of their eight opponents to 13 points or less.

Clemson (9-0) can still play the defending national champion-on-a-24-game-win streak card.

The Tigers' slim get over North Carolina (now four-5) on September 28, when the Tar Heels were being a unsuccessful two-position conversion away from scoring the most significant upset of the time, would seem to be stuck in everyone's head. LSU is at Alabama on Saturday. Four and 1 all through the six rankings of 2017 and spent all six weeks of 2018 at No. 2. Hosts Jon Sauber and Josh Moyer discuss what they learned from the first round of rankings, and what that means for Penn State, as well as look ahead at Saturday afternoon's clash against the unbeaten Golden Gophers on this week's episode of "Airing it Out". However, they could jump into the top-4 teams as early as next week if the loser of the Alabama-LSU game falls out. "If Clemson wins out they're going to be in the playoff". Their best win came against Texas A&M.

"To me, Clemson on the bubble at No. 5 tells me one thing: they can not lose". The Bears and the Sooners are the current favorites to meet in the Big 12 Championship Game.

The Bulldogs might be more at their level. Another chance to derail the SEC's master plan. However, Clemson's narrow escape of North Carolina shows how vulnerable they truly are. Clemson has won five straight in the rivalry and most have not been close. It's hard to find even a hint of upset potential on the Tigers' schedule, but a rivalry game on the road?

1 previous Tigers star isn't involved with the initially rankings, though.
