Norwich school bus driver saves kid from tragedy

Video shared by the Norwich City School District showed driver Samantha Call pulling a young boy by his shirt as a speeding vehicle illegally goes around the bus in NY. You can see the video below.

The Norwich City School District posted the video to its Facebook page to pay tribute to Call's reactions as well as warn other students to be more careful.

The upstate NY district said the video was taken April 26 on a state route about 40 miles north of the Pennsylvania state line.

Ms Call managed to avert an accident with her "good grab", and the student continued on his way out unfazed.

"That was a good grab!" a female passenger says after the student safely runs off the bus after the auto has passed.

'Samantha did an outstanding job, ' NCSD Transportation Supervisor William Loomis said in the post.

The New York State Legislature has come to an agreement on putting cameras on school bus stop sign arms.

Call also said she has been in touch with his mother, who said she is grateful for her saving her son's life.

According to New York Upstate, Loomis spoke with Call after seeing the footage, telling her the boy was able to go home that day "because of you".
