Nokia has also added the latest February 2018 Security Patch with the update.

The entry-level member of HMD Global's Android-powered Nokia revival is on its way to the UK. And in the last week of January, HMD Global rolled out a beta version of the Android 8.1 Oreo to the Nokia 8.

HMD Global has already announced that all the Nokia smartphones will receive Android updates for a minimum of two years. The update is now live over-the-air and will reach all Nokia 8 owners over the next few days. It it is the lastest Android Software from Google and arrives in as build V4.84A for the Nokia 8. The emoji fix was one of the changes introduced in Android 8.1 release.

Nokia was once the biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world but lost its appeal when it made a decision to overlook Android and start making Windows-powered smartphones. Apart from the highly anticipated Penta-lens concept phone, the company is expected to launch the Nokia 1 and Nokia 7 Plus.

The flagship comes with a 5.3-inch quad-HD IPS display with 700 nits of brightness, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is further expandable by up to 256GB via a hybrid micro-SD card slot. In addition to 4G VoLTE, the Nokia 8 provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, USB Type-C port including a traditional headphone port. While at the front, we have an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a 1.12um sensor and f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling.

The Nokia brand is now clearly making its way back into the global mobile market with accelerated growth, thanks to the several smartphone announcements by the company in 2017.
