Speaking at theDoctor Strange screening, Marvel Studios' president Kevin Feige said: "It's very important to us that all of our heroes do not become silhouette-perfect cutout icons". After all, there's a reason why Fury waited for decades to ask her for help. Fans of Captain Marvel have been clamoring for the intergalactic hero to hit our screens, and when she does she'll be bringing some of Marvel's most iconic villains with her.
Set to 90's tune "Connection" by Elastica, this new trailer takes itself less seriously than the ones we've seen previously; and Carol Danvers likes to show off some of her special abilities.
It then shifts to detail the Skrull space invasion, with Carol stating that the evil extraterrestrials are shape-shifters that can not be trusted - not even when they appear as gentle, sweet old ladies. But, you know, we're Skrulls. But there's probably some Easter eggs in the rest of it that we haven't found yet, so better to just sit back for a minute and a half. Most of the rest of the Marvel comic universe are punks basically.
"You think you can find others?" All of the Marvel characters have flaws to them, all of them have a deep humanity to them. We haven't seen how that might work in these films yet - maybe only the strongest can survive passing through time, taking regular humans out of the equation and leaving things in the hands of characters like Carol, Thor, and maybe Peter Quill?
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel will fly into theaters on March 8.
