Rival Koreas agree to talk on art troupe's visit to Olympics

The best part about NBC's VR streams is that unlike the Summer Olympics where the VR content was available exclusively on Samsung headsets, this time around, it will be made available on a wide range of devices and platforms.

UK Sport, the funding agency which distributes money to elite Olympic and Paralympic sport, has challenged Britain to win four to 10 medals at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.

The other UK Sport targets are two-to-three medals in skiing and snowboarding, one-to-two in curling, one in bobsleigh and a minimum top-eight finish in figure skating.

Official confirmation from the International Olympic Committee is yet to be received. According to Variety, NBC has partnered with Intel to set up multiple camera pods to create interactive 360-degree VR environments.

Viewers will also be able to "fly" through the Olympic world, tour Olympic venues and different areas throughout Korea.

"The Olympics have always been an opportunity to showcase emerging media technology", Gary Zenkel, president of NBC Olympics, said in a statement. "We are enabling a truly immersive experience, where fans get closer to the action than ever before allowing them feel like they are sitting in the stands for a front and center view of history being made". No word yet on whether NBC's Olympics coverage in VR will feature VR advertising as well. The XXIII Games run from 9-25 February.

Taeyang's Olympic song was announced last June, but was released to coincide with increasing activities in South Korea ahead of the Olympics, including the torch relay, which has also featured Korean entertainers as torchbearers.

The comments came one day after the first formal inter-Korean talks in more than two years.
