Nations League: England drop Kieran Trippier but Harry Kane included
May 28 2019
We used it as motivation in pre-season - more so to get all the fitness in our legs, so we were ready and determined to get off to a good start in the season. I know they got through and it's unbelievable what they've done, I love Pochettino...
The England global has been sidelined with an injury since Kane sustained an ankle problem during Tottenham Hotspur's 1-0 win over Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final. If we win: fantastic decision. I guess he'll have a few happy players and a few unhappy players when we meet up but we've always said when we meet up with England, it's into England mode.
If being potentially crowned Champions of Europe was not enough, then the attraction of playing in one of football's most impressive stadiums could also be rather appealing.
There is also positive news for Spurs on Jan Vertonghen as the defender is set to return after missing the draw with Everton on the final day of the Premier League season with an ankle injury. "But Liverpool finished the season so strongly, winning all of their last nine games to push City right to the wire".
The legendary striker did point out the fact that Klopp has lost six finals in his career and that stat should worry the the German boss. Harry could still come into that mix and has done very well for us whenever he has played with England, so is a player we like.
"If it was just one or two, then it would not make a difference, but six..."
"So it is a position where we have got real competition for places". When you look at the injuries, a lot of them have been contact, tackles.
Instead we have two clubs who have built teams without the backing of a sugar daddy owner striving to become the kings of European football and we should all be relieved about that as the soul of our game is being ripped away by stories like Manchester City's.
"Of course rumour is rumour and of course you are going to ask me about me, but today the focus is 200 percent on the final".
