Nadine Coyle has revealed the reason behind Girls Aloud's long-lasting feud - as well as discussing the chances of the girlband ever reforming.

Girls Aloud were formed on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, and went on to achieve 22 Top 40 single and five studio albums.

It has always been speculated that Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts were on one side, with Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding on the other - and now Nadine has confirmed the rift.

She admitted that she was shocked when the band chose to split because no one consulted her, and she only found out by management during their anniversary reunion tour in 2013.

As lead singer of the group, Nadine sang the majority of the vocals on the group's biggest hits, but she claims the growing jealousy caused a rift among the band.

"It was fine at the start but there's always politics in any band", said Coyle. She said recently: "The first single is basically was written because there's so many love songs like either I love you so much or you broke my heart or this was none of those things whatsoever, this was what else is a thing that people do to get on your nerves".

"And it made people, very bitter". They didn't like that.

Nadine added: "When she told me she was doing ['CBB"], I just said, "OK, well don't drink. We're all very different characters". The very last night, management had come to the room. "I was all ready, and they were like, 'So I know you're not going to like this, I know you're not going to agree, but the girls want to split up the band".

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: "I was petrified".

"He thought they were trouble". So I would have been sitting here with the other four.

Sarah Harding is reportedly the only Girls Aloud member still in contact with Nadine, and she admitted that she spoke to her after the split, revealing: "I asked Sarah and she was like, 'I can't be bothered and I hate everything".

"No editing, she will just tell you how it is".
