Nabil Fekir Booked In For Liverpool Medical On Friday

Liverpool transfer news Nabil Fekir wants to join the Reds

Lyon striker Nabil Fakir will be a Liverpool player in the very near future, according to L'Equipe. If reports from the Mirror are to be believed, Liverpool are hoping that the French club would agree to sell Fekir for a fee of around £50 million.

French outlet L'Equipe claim a medical will be undertaken by Friday, with Melissa Reddy saying that the deal is expected to be confirmed on Friday.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has a reputation for being a tough negotiator, and Friday is emerging as a key day in talks as Liverpool move to get the deal completed before the weekend.

Fekir will become the Reds' third summer signing following Monaco midfielder Fabinho's £43m move and Naby Keita's impending arrival from RB Leipzig.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has been identified by Jurgen Klopp as Philippe Coutinho's natural replacement. "The deal will certainly not be closed during the World Cup and I don't think there will be any change before the World Cup".

"We haven't set a starting price because we haven't discussed that yet".

Fekir has also drawn interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich, but Liverpool have been aggressive in chasing his signature.

The France worldwide will become Liverpool's second signing of the summer after the arrival of Fabinho from Monaco.

Shaqiri, 26, has a release clause of just £12m after Stoke were relegated to the Championship.
