N.Korea Boasts of Kim Jong-un's Diplomatic Achievements

On the United States relationship with North Korea, Mr Trump declared: "We're starting off on a new footing".

"Singapore is neither too far away as European nations are, allowing Kim Jong Un's private jet to make it here without refueling, nor too close that Trump might be seen as "giving way" to Kim by having to travel a longer distance than the latter", said Nah Liang Tuang, a research fellow at the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies.

The United States and North Korea are technically still at war - a stop-gap armistice ended the brutal three-year Korean war in 1953 and around 30,000 American troops remain in neighboring South Korea, which the U.S. supported in the conflict.

"This summit worries China's leaders", said Clayton Dube, director of the USC U.S.

Officials said the three, who were detained between 2015 and 2017, appear to be in good health.

"I think it will be a big success", Trump said as he boarded Air Force One, on his way to a political rally in Indiana.

"It demonstrates how space data can complement a global seismic network for monitoring clandestine nuclear tests - and it provides information about the test site relevant for North and South Korea peace talks".

South Korea government said it had high hopes for the summit.

The details were revealed hours after three freed American detainees arrived home following more than a year in North Korean custody, clearing the last major hurdle for the historic meeting. Welcome home from your frightening ordeal in North Korea.

Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has welcomed the news that the date and location of the US-North Korea summit have been decided. State Department official Brian Hook was with him and among the first Americans to see the three men.

Trump and other administration officials have vowed to maintain Trump's maximum pressure campaign of punishing economic sanctions and efforts to isolate the regime and deprive it of much-needed foreign currency.
