"I'm first lady, OK?" she quipped with a smile.

Despite their marriage ending in a tabloid-affair, there seems to be no bad-blood between the two now as Trump apparently offered Ivana an ambassadorship to her home country the Czech Republic.

Ivana said she has no interest in being first lady of the United States, but would love to be "First Mother".

Back in March 2017, she took on an official but unpaid role in the White House, and has since pushed for improved family leave plans that she has worked with the president on, and has also spoken out in support of women in business.

"There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex, this is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise", the First Lady's statement concluded.

Ivana, the Czech-born former fashion model who was married to the president from 1977 until their famously nasty divorce in 1992, is promoting her new memoir Raising Trump. Ivana told ABC News while laughing. "Okay? I'm first lady".

In the book, Ivana composes glowingly about her marriage to Trump and her unmistakable part at the Trump Organization. "I have a ideal life", Trump said in an interview on CBS' Sunday Morning.

It is usual for first ladies to be more popular than their husbands, who are called upon to sound off on a host of hard issues, and Donald T rump, who has experienced some of the lowest public approval ratings of a first-year president, has called attention to his wife's popularity.

"Donald during the divorce was brutal".

"I know that he was not involved at all in any wrongdoing", she said. Indeed, in the same interview she was asked about Maples. "I don't mind immigrants and the wall because you have to protect your borders", she said. I like to do what I want to do, go wherever I want to go with whomever I want to go. She revealed that she has a direct line to the White House and her ex-husband, but she doesn't use it lest the current Mrs. Trump get the wrong idea. I still feel that way, but given our new reality - having a president in the Oval Office who's reviled by 99.9 percent of the media - I understand why President Trump tweets.
