Premier League outfit Liverpool have today been rocked with bad news, after tests revealed that Sadio Mane is set for around six weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

The first game Mane will sit out is Manchester United's visit to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool won just once in seven matches in all competitions during his time away with Senegal.

The forward was named among FIFA's 30-man shortlist for the 2017 Ballon d'Or award on Monday, but will now face further time out for Liverpool having already missed three games through suspension following his red card against Manchester City.

The speedy forward picked up a red card during the 5-0 loss to Manchester City last month but was back in the starting line-up for the 1-1 draw at Newcastle before the global break.

Jurgen Klopp's side have some genuinely crucial matches coming up in the next few weeks, both in the Champions League and Premier League.

They average 2.2 Premier League goals with Mane in the team, compared to 1.6 goals in his absence.
