Liverpool Salah not happy as Premier League add to Harry Kane's goals

With this development, Kane's total comes to 25, leaving him just four goals shy of the front-runner Mo Salah, who took to Twitter to voice his confusion at what is admittedly quite a odd turn of events, all things considered.

"If they turn it around, they turn it around".

The Premier League said in a statement: "The goal had originally been awarded to Christian Eriksen but after taking the player's testimony into account and reviewing the match footage, a three-person panel agreed the final touch on the ball belonged to Kane".

Many people who play the popular game on the Premier League's official website were left cursing their luck.

In a simple tweet shortly after the news was broke, the Premier League's top scorer said: "Wooooooow really?".

Salah's teammates Gini Wijnaldum, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Simon Mignolet also took to Twitter, using emojis and GIFs to show their surprise at the decision.

And Leicester City striker Vardy - as well as England greats Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker - soon followed suit.

And the Anfield star appeared to show his disproval at the Premier League's decision to award Kane the goal.

Kane's latest distinction aside, he still trails Salah by four goals. "Look, whatever happens, there are still games to go". I can't control what he does.

Does Kane have what it takes to beat Salah?

"We have to carry on - nothing's given to you in the Premier League so we have to keep winning".
