Lionel Messi in Barcelona's squad to play Inter Milan in Champions League

Upfront, Luis Suarez is another player who has stepped up in Messi's absence, and should be focal point of the Barcelona attack.

Barca beat Sevilla 4-2 after Messi went off injured midway through the first half, convincingly beat Inter 2-0 at home and thrashed Real Madrid 5-1.

Messi was a surprise inclusion in the squad list as he was expected to be out of action for three weeks after breaking a bone in his right arm towards the end of October.

Barcelona have won all three of their opening Champions League games in Group B and would secure their place in the knockout phases of the competition with a win over Inter at the San Siro. But wins, in any form, can not be overlooked. The Catalans have already conceded 14 goals in 12 league games this season, more than 11 other sides in Spain's top flight.

The defending champions got to the scoresheet when Luis Suarez scored from Jordi Alba's cutback eleven minutes into the match. After not scoring in the first four games of the season, Icardi has scored eight goals in his last eight goals between Serie A and Champions League. "We know they will score many goals together again".

The big news for Barcelona is of course the return of Lionel Messi into the squad.

"We've always said we can play against anyone, and that still holds true".

Inter Milan is still in good position to advance from the group, sitting behind Barcelona with two wins and the one loss and five points clear of both Tottenham and PSV Eindhoven.
