'Lethal Weapon' Renewed for Season 3; Seann William Scott Replacing Clayne Crawford

Fox on Sunday renewed Lethal Weapon for a third season, with Seann William Scott (American Pie) filling the void created by Crawford's dismissal and joining the drama in a new role opposite Damon Wayans.

Though details are still being worked out, Scott has been confirmed to be playing a new character ends up partnering with Murtaugh (Damon Wayans).

'Seann is a fantastic addition to this already awesome cast, ' Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn told The Hollywood Reporter.

FOX has made a decision to renew its action drama series Lethal Weapon for a third season, but it's not exactly that cut and dry. The third season will get underway later this year. This marks Scott's first network series regular role. Zero communication with Fox or Warner Bros.

Crawford starred as Martin Riggs, the character originated by Mel Gibson in the original film series.

Former Lethal Weapon star Clayne Crawford has broken his silence after being fired from the Fox and Warner Bros. However, reports emerged that Crawford had been disciplined by the network for multiple outbursts of bad behavior put the show in jeopardy of cancellation. "Matt Miller, his incredible team and everyone at Warner Bros. have been tremendous partners, and we're thrilled to bring this show back for another season".

Lethal Weapon also stars Keesha Sharp as Trish Murtaugh, Chandler Kinney as Riana Murtaugh, Dante Brown as Roger Murtaugh Jr., Jordana Brewster as Dr. Maureen "Mo" Cahill, Michelle Mitchenor as Sonya Bailey and Johnathan Fernandez as Scorsese. But following his two counts of misbehaviour he has now been officially replaced, and the newbie will be American Pie actor Seann William Scott.

Clayne Crawford has been replaced in the TV series Lethal Weapon. Matt Miller, Dan Lin, Jennifer Gwartz and McG serve as executive producers. The pilot was written by Miller and directed by McG.
