Easley, who has been plagued with injuries since his time with the Florida Gators, was carted off the field. The Patriots cut Easley before the 2016 season after it became clear he simply wouldn't stay healthy.
Easley tore a ligament in each of his knees during his college career at Florida, and he ended two seasons on injured reserve with New England before he joined the Rams a year ago.
The Rams signed Easley previous year and he had a productive season with 35 tackles and 3.5 sacks. The Patriots drafted him 29th overall in 2014. He ended both seasons in New England on injured reserve, the second in 2015 with an injured thigh. The injury just makes getting something done with Donald an even bigger priority for the Rams (as if it weren't already, given that Donald is one of the biggest impact players on the team).
