The teenage sensation joined his hometown club from Monaco on loan, with a compulsory purchase option at the end of the season, believed to be in the region of €180 million.

"I want to do even better than last season", Mbappe said at his media presentation, quoted by FourFourTwo.

"For me, the price is what it is, it's not going to change my way of playing and it's not something that's going to worry me", he said.

He said: "I came to PSG for the project but having Neymar here is an additional advantage".

"And win right away. We only have one career and it goes quickly", the 18-year-old France forward told a news conference on Wednesday.

Mbappe acknowledged that the chance to form a partnership with the Brazilian striker was an incentive, but had not been a deciding factor in the decision to make the move. "It's hard to replace him", Gaizka Mendieta said after a Manchester United Legends and Barcelona Legends played out a 2-2 draw in the second of their two charity matches at Old Trafford on Saturday. "It was important to return to the city where I grew up".

The player, who made a total of 44 appearances last season scoring 26 goals in all competitions, was instrumental for Monaco who won the French Ligue 1 title, and also reached the semifinals of the Champions League. "There were events that have changed my opinion".

Subsequently, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and PSG all battled over the summer for his signature.

"I think, obviously it's something the player would've been happy to have happened and obviously Barca wanted it to happen as well", he added.

But club president Nasser al-Khelaifi, who sat beside Mbappe, said PSG had nothing to hide.

"We're very confident in our position, in our recruitment", Al Khelaifi said.
