Kingdom Hearts III Finally Gets a Release Date

Square Enix made the announcement at 1:30am ET Sunday morning during the kickoff of the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra - World Tour, despite the fact that the company has an E3 press conference Monday morning.

Square Enix has officially announced the Kingdom Hearts III release date, confirming that the highly anticipated sequel will be released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on January 29, 2019!

Kingdom Hearts III is an action role-playing game that combines the universes of various Disney franchises and Final Fantasy. The date was announced by series director Tetsuya Nomura, and it didn't take long for word to get out.

With the year almost half over, it makes sense for Square Enix and Disney to begin ramping up for the release of the game, and with a ton of E3 left to cover, don't be surprised if even more footage is shared. Last we heard, the game was set to launch this year but it turns out that won't be the case. I'm sorry that we're asking for a little more time than initially planned.

TechRadar is reporting live from E3 in Los Angeles this week and we'll be bringing you more news and hands-on impressions of Kingdom Hearts 3 very soon. The gap between Kingdom Hearts 3 and Kingdom Hearts 2 will be just over 13 years.
