Kerr: Durant out for Game 3, Thompson day-to-day

Thompson suffered a mild left hamstring strain and was listed as questionable.

"Klay said he'll be fine, but Klay could be half dead and he would say he would be fine". "He pulled his hamstring. He thinks it's minor-I don't know what that means going forward".

With 120, Thompson is the Warriors' leader in terms of postseason games played, one ahead of Draymond Green and 12 ahead of Stephen Curry. The sharpshooter has never missed a playoff game in his National Basketball Association career and is one of the toughest players in the league. Since that loss, the Warriors added Kevin Durant and have won two straight championships, although the sting of the 2016 loss still looms like a cloud over Oakland.

Durant injured his calf towards the end of the third quarter of Game 5 of the Conference Semifinals against the Houston Rockets. The Warriors are scheduled to practice Tuesday at Oracle Arena, so that could be Durant's opportunity to test the leg.

Last week, Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes reported the Warriors believed Durant would return in Game 4, with Game 3 considered a more optimistic option.

The Warriors have been hit with several injuries.

In addition to Durant and Thompson, backup big man Kevon Looney suffered a non-displaced cartilage fracture on the right side of his collarbone area in Game 2 and will miss the remainder of The Finals. They evened the series with the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night despite Klay Thompson joining Kevin Durant off the court with an injury.
