Kathy Griffin Announces New US Tour, Set to Start in 'Trump's Backyard'

During an appearance on HBO's 'Real Time with Bill Maher' on Friday the comedian said the first gig is set for Carnegie Hall in New York with the other one at the Kennedy Center which Griffin joked was her journey to “Trump’s backyard

She appeared on HBO's "Real Time" with Bill Maher and announced she has booked several shows at New York City's Carnegie Hall right in "Trump's backyard".

Griffin also took to Twitter to share the news, encouraging fans to join her email list to purchase tickets next week. "Great news - I'm heading back to Carnegie Hall in NY!"

"I'm dipping my toes into touring again even though the Trumps and nobody wants me to work again", she told Maher. "I just booked today".

"Everyone makes mistakes. Kathy Griffin should not go away".

The comic, 57, announced Friday her first string of USA tour dates since she was photographed holding a bloodied, decapitated Trump head in an image that went viral and sparked massive backlash last May.

The 57-year-old comedian made the announcement on Friday during her appearance on HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher.

In a video titled "Kathy Griffin's State of the Union", she explained, "I'm getting a lot of online hate from trolls who think I've lost my mind".

Griffin, who called the controversial photo "distasteful but not illegal", recounted her story tonight in terms both comic and serious.

Unable to tour in the United States, Griffin went overseas, performing in 23 cities in 15 countries, she said.

"This is really scary when you're at the Singapore airport", she said, adding that her devices were confiscated even at LAX and London Heathrow.

"I am no longer sorry, the whole outrage was B.S., the whole thing got so blown out of proportion", she said during an interview with Australian talk show "Sunrise" in August.

"That's the administration we have now", Griffin told Maher.

But, she told Maher, "I don't blame them. It could happen, it's kinda insane". Griffin also lost her longtime New Year's Eve co-hosting gig with Anderson Cooper on CNN.

"Donald Trump Jr. goes on "Good Morning America" and goes, "We don't just want to ruin Kathy Griffin's career, we want to decimate her"..."

"I'm not decimated", she said, raising a middle finger. "There's like whispering, and they put me in a detention room and you don't know how long it's going to take".

"Hey Suzie Hardy, I will do for you that which no one did for me after May 30", Griffin tweeted Sunday. "Ten months I waited to do that joke, ten months!"
