Kane and Son on song as Tottenham Hotspur thrash Everton

In what was Everton's worst performance under new manager Sam Allardyce, Spurs brushed aside the visitors with an emphatic win the move them level with 4th place Liverpool.

Kane netted twice in Spurs' 4-0 win over Everton at Wembley, moving him to 98 Premier League goals and one clear of Teddy Sheringham.

"It's impossible to beat this guy because he's one of the best strikers and one of the best players but he works really hard".

"These are three big players that I loved watching growing up and they were such good goalscorers", said Kane, who did not become a Spurs regular until November 2014.

Everton looked to have scored a goal that was ruled out for offside, while Harry Kane's second also looked like the forward was leaning offside.

The Englishman doubled his tally for the afternoon on 59 minutes and while it was the prettiest goal he will score, it was the crucial record-breaker to make him Spurs' most prolific player in the Premier League era.

Spurs: Lloris, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Son, Kane, Dier (Wanyama, 73), Dembele (Sissoko, 81), Alli, Eriksen (Lamela, 86) Aurier, Davies.

Coverage of this evening's Premier League match between Tottenham and Everton will be shown live on BT Sport 1 (Sky 413, Sky HD 427, BT TV 408, Virgin Media 531), with the pre-match build-up starting at 5pm and kick-off at 5.30pm.

West Brom, who kicked off level on points with Swansea, needed just four minutes to take the lead at The Hawthorns when Jonny Evans headed in from a corner.

Manuel Lanzini wrapped up the points with a well-crafted third goal after 58 minutes and he swiftly added a fourth.

Jimmy Greaves' all-time record of league goals for Tottenham remains some way off.

Kane earlier this season broke legendary Alan Shearer's record for most Premier League goals in a calendar year by bagging 39 goals in 2017 for Spurs. After a slow start to the season, the England global has banged in 18 goals in 21 games, and is a staggering 8/15 anytime scorer shout with Bet365. "He is always thinking to try to improve, improve, improve, score goals and improve for the team".

Tottenham have been in superb form recently, and now sit in fifth position in the Premier League table, although they still sit a distant 18 points adrift of league leaders Manchester City.

Everton tried to find a way back into the match and, with five minutes remaining until the break, Tosun got down the left but produced a disappointing cutback with colleagues well placed.

"I should have gone back to being a bit more boring", Allardyce said.

Son dominated proceedings in the second half. "Hopefully I can get to the 100 as soon as possible".

Kane's goals have come in only 135 games, while Sheringham took 237.
