Juventus given hope as Mourinho comments on Martial's playing time

The England global has drifted in and out of the Red Devils side at times under the club's current boss, but he is rarely overlooked completely.

According to RMC Sport, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Anthony Martial from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the summer transfer window. I probably have to reduce and have a squad of 12 or 13 players.

Martial and Rashford have made 55 Premier League appearances between them this season, but both have struggled to cement a place in the starting line-up since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.

Rashford is a hugely promising young footballer who has a bright future ahead of him, and working with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is only going to improve him.

"If I was you, I would go in another direction".

"The same questions you are doing to me, you should do to every other manager because everyone has players in the same situation".

Mourinho replied, "Because I decide that way", when he was asked about Rashford being used, more often than not, off the bench in key fixtures.

Asked about Martial's lack of game time, Mourinho said: "If I were you, I would ask why (Romelu) Lukaku plays every match, why (Nemanja) Matic plays every match". Only 11 can start.

"That is just football".

"It is just football". That would be fantastic economically for the football club if you had only 11 with no injuries and no suspensions and no fatigue.

United face West Brom on Sunday before travelling to Bournemouth and it could be good opportunity for Mourinho to hand some fringe players game time.

They now sit four points clear of Liverpool in third but with a game in hand over the Merseyside club, while Spurs also have 67 points but the same number of games played as United (33).

The best answer Mourinho could deliver would be to go after west Brom like his side did in the second half against Manchester City in last weekend's 3-2 win.

"In our case, we come from a big result".
