Victor Lindelof says he’s biding his time to shine at Manchester United

Victor Lindelof has dismissed speculation that he is unsettled at Manchester United, saying that he has "good dialogue" with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese trainer has been no stranger to controversy in the past, often being accused of playing mind games in press conferences to get a psychological edge over opponents.

"I am a much better coach today, precisely because of the different control of my emotions, the way I deal with difficulties".

They now sit joint top of the Premier League table, trailing Manchester City only on goals difference; a stark contrast to last season where the club struggled to find form in the Premier League and eventually finished sixth. "Setubal remains the only city where I feel like myself, where I feel like Ze Mario (his Portuguese nickname), where I walk on the street and people treat me like I like to be treated".

Mourinho's men are on 19 points, the same as locals rivals Manchester City, with pundits and fans believing they can mount their first serious title challenge since Sir Alex Ferguson signed off by winning the Premier League in 2013.

The Inter winger was one of the four players José Mourinho instructed Ed Woodward to get him over the course of the summer, but the Serie A side stood firm, refusing to accept anything under €50m for their star forward.

The former Chelsea boss attended a ceremony on Tuesday to mark the event, with the local authority renaming the former Rua da Saude road as "Avenida Jose Mourinho".

With World Cup 2018 qualifiers under way again, attentions have turned to Portugal and the Man Utd boss feels that it will be hard for the nation to echo their Euro 2016 glory.

"He's just hit the ground running, it's been easy for him".

Asked how the Seleccao would fare in their upcoming clashes with Andorra and Switzerland, Mourinho was unequivocal: "We'll win and go to the World Cup".

That will all change when they take on Liverpool after the worldwide break.
