Official: Bayern Munich Announce New Signing

Arsenal, Monaco and Sevilla all expressed an interest in Perisic but Bayern were the only club who promised they wanted to retain him in future years.

He said in July on the back of a 1-0 International Champions Cup defeat to Manchester United: "We're working with him, but his response isn't positive".

The 30-year-old Croatia global could then join the Bavarians permanently in June 2020 as the German side have an option to buy in the deal.

"Ivan will help us immediately with his global experience", Hasan Salihamidzic explained.

Sane sustained cruciate ligament damage in City's penalty shootout Community Shield win over Liverpool two weeks ago.

Perisic previously spent time in the Bundelsiga with Borussia Dortmund between 2011 and 2013 before joining Wolfsburg until his departure for Milan in 2015.

Perisic starred for Croatia in the FIFA World Cup past year in Russian Federation, during a tournament where his nation made it to the final, only to lose to France.

"He is technically strong and flexible in attack".

It remains unclear whether Bayern will still make a bid for Sane despite his injury.

In light of the news, Bayern have pursued other avenues and are nearing the season-long loan signing of Perisic from Inter Milan, according to German newspaper Bild.
