Doris Payne, who has been the subject of a documentary and casually said during a 2016 Associated Press interview that "I was a thief", was arrested Monday after allegedly stealing items from a Walmart in Chamblee, Ga.

This granny has a serious case of the butter fingers.

An employee watched the 86-year-old jewel thief snap up items in the pharmacy, electronics and grocery departments, police said.

She was ordered, by a judge, to keep out of retail stores and to wear the ankle bracelet. She was later taken into custody on March 13. She tried to leave the store after only paying for the items in the cart.

Payne is not new to this, she's true to this!

On Tuesday, before being locked inside the cell, Payne said that she had not stolen anything and that she had forgotten about the items and missed to pay the bills. She has served small stints behind bars for her crimes.

And her smooth talk that she said netted a big 10.5-carat diamond ring in Monte Carlo.

She had fled to France and was detained in Nice before being extradited back to Monte Carlo.

Payne told the Los Angeles Times in 2008 that she stole her first diamond when she was in her 20s and then became hooked.

Doris Payne, the octogenarian famed for swiping huge amounts of high-priced bling over the years, has been arrested again. She pled guilty and was sentenced to two years in prison with two years of parole. She has worked under 20 aliases, and five Social Security numbers.

According to the police report, the shoplifted items were worth $86.22. She may be banned from malls and jewelry stores but that doesn't stop her from finding other stores to rip off.

"I understand that the shopkeepers have a different opinion, but they all agreed she was charming and friendly and nice", Von Helms told the Journal-Constitution.

Born in 1930, Doris Marie Payne is believed to have stolen over $2 million in jewels over the past six decades.
